Many nurseries close or shorten hours in winter, so check the listing for current hours and Google rating before you go.

I shopped with them at the Evanston Farmers market and bought a strawberry planter. Not only was the service exceptional (they carried it back to my car) but the strawberries have been plentiful and easy to care for which shows it was in great health. I will purchase from them again!

I love to choose my garden needs at Smit Farms. They have helpful friendly knowledge staff. They grow all of their plants on site in their greenhouses or in the fields. They have a large range of garden/herb plants to choose from when you go. They ruin it if their heirloom plants early in the gardening season, so it's best to shop early. They put many on sale during late planting which helps those who cannot afford regular pricing to still have their garden. I do this with my herbs, usually because you can grow them indoor more easily, and many come back every year, so they are worth the expense. They hqve produce stand with c sir veggies and herbs you purchase, pick your own in the fields that are open to the public certain hours, and Holiday trees & wreaths for Christmas. You won't be unsatisfied with your visit or purchases. They su take cash/ debit & credit card purchase so you afight run into issues. They don't take EBT, to purchase garden produce plants.

Went to their Annual Garage Sale. Vendors were all nice, a lot of different items and great donuts. A lot of parking and for a cold February day, it was nice and warm in there. We didn't stay for lunch, but the food looked delicious with lots of places to sit.

This is a great farm for getting flowers, plants, herbs and veggies, pumpkins, corn, and more! Employees are always very friendly, and the greenhouse always looks beautiful. There is a stand at the farm, and Smits also has farm stands at various markets in Chicago.
